Celine Byrne – In Concert
Celine Byrne performs a selection well-loved opera arias as well as traditional favourites and songs from the shows accompanied by Dearbhla Brosnan (piano), Lynda O’Connor (violin) and Ailbhe McDonough (cello).
Celine Byrne is an internationally renowned Lyric Soprano who made her operatic début as Mimi in La Bohéme in Scottish Opera’s 2010 production. In recent years she has performed extensively throughout Europe, as well as in the United States, China, Russia, and Mexico. Her compelling and thrilling performances have won her the universal acclaim of audiences and critics across the opera world.
Celine, accompanied by a piano, violin and cello trio, will perform the best-known and loved operatic arias along with favourites from well-loved musicals and traditional Irish songs.
Celine enjoys universal acclaim of audiences and critics alike across the opera world but her recitals and concerts have also gained her an enthusiastic fan base right across Europe. In autumn 2016 she toured with Jose Carreras in China. She has also performed with Andrea Bocelli, Roberto Alagna, Joseph Calleja and Gaston Rivero.
Commenting on her concert which closes the inaugural Drimoleague Singing Festival, Celine said, “It’s been a busy year singing in Dusseldorf, Malmo and Moscow to name a few but I’m really delighted to make my first trip to West Cork and am really looking forward to performing in Drimoleague.”
