I just finished, what was a wonderful week at the board Gáis energy theatre, singing the role of Mimi in La Bohème. It is such a beautiful opera and one that is very close to my heart as is my favourite role and also it was the role in which I made my operatic debut in 2012.

My husband Charlie and I went to see La Boheme on 30th Nov It was an enchanting performance by The Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow but the outstanding star of the show for us was our own Soprano Celine Byrne. What a super voice and she played the role of Mimi so well. We look forward to seeing her perform soon again.

In the opera,  Puccini takes achingly human feelings and sets them to music — music that soars with the ecstasy of love, crackles with the pain of jealousy and cries with the agony of loss. Some human emotions are too big for words alone, and for that, we have music.
La Bohème exposes your soul to the feelings that only music can express

2016/17 is an incredibly busy season for Celine which includes performances of seven operas across cities including Kassel, Malmo, Düsseldorf, X and Dublin so it is particularly special for Celine to be at home in Ireland for Christmas.

Celine is currently in Moscow where she is rehearsing a new production of La Bohème for Opera Novaya Company.

Starring in the role of Mimi, Celine is thrilled to revisit this opera and bring it to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin at the end of November.

On Wednesday 28th September, Celine was delighted to join one of the world’s best known and loved tenors, Andrea Bocelli, on stage in the 3 Arena, Dublin.
